Since I’m a one person shop I do get booked pretty quickly. I book only one wedding cake a day so a 6 month to a year lead time is not unreasonable. For other cakes 3 to 4 weeks in advance is recommended.
We do deliver within a 100 mile radius. Delivery cost is based upon mileage

To hold your date, a retainer payment of half the cost is required.
Cakes can be picked up with a signed disclaimer form. A flat space in the transport vehicle is recommended (seats are typically slanted and not flat). Be mindful that you have a cake in the car so limit sudden starts and stops and take the sharp turns very slowly.
Our cakes are moist and fresh and would not withstand the rough handling during shipment.

Pesticides are often used on flowers. I can add fresh flowers to a cake using straws and covered platters to protect the cake from direct contact with the flowers.
Fondant is a sugar paste that is rolled and applied to the outside of a cake to provide a smoother beautiful sleek look and is necessary for some designs. I make my own marshmallow, white chocolate fondant which is rolled thin and tastes great. I can also make butter cream look pretty smooth if you prefer.
We do not charge extra for different flavors on each tier.
Cash, check or money order is preferred but Paypal or credit card payments are also accepted. Checks and money orders should be made payable to Unique Cakes. The fee for returned checks is $75
